SCTE&VT and its four units integrated website Inauguration at SCTE&VT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha
The government is focusing on vocational education and skill development programs in the state. Shortly after the new government was formed, several capacity-building activities were initiated.
This was highlighted by Shri Sampad Chandra Swain(Honorable Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Odisha) during a special event at State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training.
During the event, the Minister launched life skills training at Polytechnic Ranking, introduced an integrated website, and discussed the Government Polytechnics initiative. He emphasized the importance of supporting polytechnics and other such domains that show promising results, noting that Odisha's Polytechnic Ranking is the first of its kind in India.
The integrated website provides information about the Central Placement Cell (CPC), Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DSDE), Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET), and the State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE&VT). The Life Skills Training App is a significant initiative aimed at second and third-year polytechnic students, starting from the financial year 2024-25, in collaboration with MacMillan. This training is especially important for young women, helping them build confidence and skills for entrepreneurship and employment.
